Cardiff Student Letting

Taking on the rebranding project for Cardiff Student Letting was a pivotal experience in my career as a brand manager. The challenge was not just to refresh a visual identity but to redefine the essence of the brand and how it connected with students in Cardiff.

Understanding the Brand and it's Audience

The first step in the rebranding process was immersing myself in the company’s existing identity and understanding its target audience. Cardiff Student Letting serves a diverse group of students, each with unique needs and preferences when it comes to finding accommodation. With insights already gathered into their experiences, expectations, and desires, this would guide our rebranding efforts.

Crafting a New Brand Strategy

Armed with this valuable feedback, I developed a comprehensive brand strategy that emphasised accessibility, community, and reliability. We aimed to position Cardiff Student Letting as not just a service provider, but a supportive partner in students' journeys. This strategic shift would be the foundation for our new visual identity and messaging.

Visual Identity Overhaul

The visual rebranding process was a crucial aspect of our project. I redesigning the logo, colour palette, and typography to reflect a modern, vibrant, and student-centric brand. We wanted to create a visual language that resonated with young adults, conveying both professionalism and a sense of community.


  1. Logo Redesign: The new logo was designed to be bold and inviting, incorporating elements that symbolise the housing rental market and energy of the audience.
  2. Colour Palette: We chose a bright and fresh colour palette that appealed to students, aiming to evoke feelings of warmth and welcome.
  3. Typography: A contemporary font was selected to ensure readability and modernity, aligning with the overall youthful vibe we wanted to convey.

Engaging Messaging and Content

With the new visual identity in place, I focused on revamping our messaging. We crafted taglines and promotional materials that emphasised our commitment to student satisfaction and community building. The content on our website and social media channels was revised to reflect a more conversational and relatable tone, making it easier for students to connect with us.

Reflection and Impact

Reflecting on the rebranding of Cardiff Student Letting, I am proud of the transformation we achieved. The project not only revitalised the brand but also strengthened its connection with the student community. It reinforced my belief in the power of branding as a tool for fostering relationships and building trust.


This experience deepened my understanding of strategic branding and enhanced my skills in collaboration, creativity, and project management. As I move forward in my career, I carry with me the insights gained and the rewarding experience of having redefined a brand that truly speaks to its audience.
